Overview
Starting around Dataverse version number 9.2.24122.146 Microsoft made a core platform change to dis-allow any SDK Message Processing Steps on the Solution entity. This is a clear breaking change from Microsoft and usually they reverse these types of decisions but not for this one. Microsoft gave no warning of this change to any customers or ISVs that we know of. They have not listed it (as at Jan 21st 2025) under their normal 'deprecated webpage' and have not updated their on-line documentation anywhere that we can find.
We had a plugin registered on the Solution entity and hence the error message when importing our solution. We now have a fix in place for this issue with the release of North52 version v1.0.0.646 so just downloading & importing this solution will resolve the issue.
Steps to Resolve Issue
- Download the latest version of North52 at north52.com/download-solution/
- Launch make.powerapps.com and connect to the Org you want to upgrade
- Import the North52 solution
