0:10 I'm going to demonstrate how to set up a
0:12 formula and the schedule to send a happy
0:14 birthday email to the contacts in your
0:16 Dynamics 365 environment for this we
0:20 will create a new field on your contact
0:22 record called next birthday a Nord 52
0:26 formula that will populate the next
0:28 birthday field a work flow to send the
0:30 email and then n52 schedule to trigger
0:33 this
0:35 workflow this is our contact record as
0:37 you can see we're using the outof
0:39 the-box birthday field next birthday is
0:42 a blank date
0:44 field this is a set next birthday
0:47 formula it checks to make sure the
0:49 birthday field contains data it then
0:52 works out if the current date is greater
0:54 than the contacts birth date plus the
0:57 difference in years between then and now
0:59 this allow ows us to figure out if their
1:01 birthday will be this year or next
1:04 year if the local date is greater then
1:07 their birthday is next year so we add
1:10 one to their birth date plus the years
1:12 since their birth date if it is not then
1:15 we know their birthday is this year and
1:17 we just add the years since their birth
1:20 date the formula is configured as a save
1:23 to current record on the contact entity
1:26 it is triggered on the birthday field
1:28 and the Target Field is the next
1:30 birthday
1:32 field we return to the contact and set
1:35 the birthday to be January 1st
1:38 1985 since today is the 19th of April
1:41 2017 the formula will set the next part
1:44 it to be January 1st
1:46 2018 we then set the day and month to
1:49 today's date and save as you can see the
1:52 next Birth has been set as
1:56 today next we take a look at the
1:58 workflow it's a very basic one all it
2:02 contains is two steps the first step
2:04 sends a template happy birthday email
2:06 out to the customer the second step is
2:09 used to increment the next birthday by
2:11 12 months using standard workflow
2:16 functionality so now we have our field a
2:19 formula to populate it and a workflow to
2:21 send the email the last part is the
2:24 North52 schedule so we navigate to
2:27 settings n52 schedule
2:30 and we will create a new
2:33 schedule we name our schedule happy
2:35 birthday
2:36 emails we set our frequency to be daily
2:40 and select part day email as the
2:42 workflow we set the schedule to start
2:45 now and then we need to add our fetch
2:48 XML so we will open an advance find we
2:52 are looking for
2:55 contacts where the next birthday is
2:57 today
3:00 and the contact status is
3:02 active we download the
3:05 XML and open it with
3:08 notepad we copy and paste the fetch XML
3:11 out of the file and into the schedule
3:14 and then save the
3:18 schedule when the save has completed we
3:21 activate the schedule using n52 commands
3:24 start
3:27 schedule when we open up settings and
3:29 then system jobs we can see that the
3:32 schedule is
3:34 executing the schedule has created a new
3:37 instance of itself that will execute in
3:39 24 hours finally we return to the
3:43 contact record and refresh the screen we
3:45 can see that the next birthday field has
3:48 been incremented by one year for this
