0:04 hi everyone Mike from Norfolk still here
0:06 in today's video we're going to shorten
0:09 or 52 interacting with you see I will
0:12 use a real world example of one of our
0:14 clients gables for this so a customer
0:17 wanted their reps to be able to quickly
0:19 calculate to a quote using a form on the
0:22 UCA
0:23 they needed is quote to be calculated
0:26 using the following rules here we will
0:30 use a knowledgebase article to look at
0:32 the rules as you can see there are seven
0:36 business requirements given to us and
0:39 these seven rules affect how much the
0:41 insurance will be and they are intuitive
0:44 for the most part so let's have a look
0:46 so you can see the vehicle type how old
0:53 vehicle is does the customer want
0:57 protection against uninsured motorists
1:01 does the customer want medical cover for
1:04 any crash is there a high chance an
1:08 occupant will get hurt in a collision
1:10 and finally is vehicle more likely to be
1:15 stolen so we translated these rules into
1:20 a decision table Alexa and as you can
1:23 see we have moved each requirement over
1:25 to its own column like this so whenever
1:31 a formula is triggered the decision
1:34 table will run through each row and any
1:39 row that is true will have its auto
1:42 premium value added to the total auto
1:45 premium value so for example let's say I
1:49 have a five year old sedan we can see
1:54 the sedan means that I get 300 added to
1:57 the auto premium and it's a five years
2:01 old so it's between four and six so
2:04 that's another 350 added to the auto
2:07 premium to a total of 650 now say I
2:12 wanted medical
2:13 which to be included that's another 700
2:16 added which startles to 1350 so now
2:21 let's show this decision table in action
2:23 on the hub here we can see a couple of
2:25 examples that we have pre-made unfit
2:29 this video will make a new one so we'll
2:31 just click on new let's give it a name
2:35 Mustang and we'll just fill in the
2:39 details
2:42 and finally one we're happy with the
2:44 quote we feel safe and we can see that
2:49 the premium has been calculated behind
2:51 the scenes using the rules that we
2:53 mentioned before so if we just change a
2:56 few values like so
2:58 and then click Save again we can see
3:02 that it is again calculated and the
3:04 premium has been updated without any
3:06 work on the user's parsh this has been
3:10 an or 52 video if you liked it you can
