0:04 in this video we are going to review how
0:06 you can use the North52 data package to
0:09 move configuration data from one
0:11 dynamics instance to another there are
0:16 many types of configuration data which
0:18 are not transported as part of the
0:20 standard solution functionality some of
0:23 these include business units teams
0:25 access team templates queues goals
0:29 subjects product catalog document
0:32 templates for the purpose of this video
0:36 we are going to show you how we can
0:38 easily move access team templates from
0:41 one dynamics instance to another we have
0:43 set up a number of access team templates
0:46 here for various entities there is the
0:49 existing out-of-the-box one that comes
0:51 as standard and these other ones that we
0:54 have created we're going to create a
0:56 data package to move this data first
0:59 thing we need to do is create a new
1:00 solution to house our data package they
1:06 call this dynamics 365 configuration
1:09 select the default publisher or any
1:12 other publish that you like and provide
1:15 a version number we can navigate to
1:19 settings North52 BPA North52 data
1:23 package create a new data package rename
1:28 it and choose the solution that we want
1:32 to deploy this data to in this case our
1:36 dynamic 365 configuration solution we
1:39 click Save and then we need to add the
1:42 access team data so come across to our
1:45 explore tab find our team templates and
1:49 we can see that all the records here
1:51 have been shown there is one that we
1:54 don't want to select so we can uncheck
1:56 that one because that one will exist on
1:58 our target system as well click the
2:02 lightning bolt to generate the data and
2:05 we can see that the various details for
2:08 these entities for these records have
2:11 come in to our data package
2:14 we click Save and then we can navigate
2:18 back to our solutions and find our data
2:24 package here that we've created and then
2:27 export that you can use either unmanaged
2:34 or managed solution for this purpose
2:37 once that's downloaded we can then
2:41 import that into our target environment
2:44 we come across to our target environment
2:46 from the solutions section import and
2:51 select the data package I'll select the
2:55 solution that contains our data package
2:56 and then import that
2:59 once that is imported we click publish
3:02 all customizations and that will unpack
3:05 the data package ready for us to deploy
3:08 it if we navigate to settings security
3:16 and look at the access team templates in
3:19 this instance we can see that the
3:20 default one is there and now we want to
3:23 import the ones that we've assigned to
3:26 our data package so we navigate to
3:29 settings Northup - - data package and we
3:34 can see that we've got a new one in here
3:37 dynamics 365 configuration if we just
3:40 opened this up then we can simply
3:42 navigate to our execute fly up here
3:46 click execute wait for that process to
3:50 complete we have a valid result here if
3:54 we go back to our settings security
3:58 access team templates we can see that
4:01 our access team templates have been
4:03 created this has just been a simple
4:05 example of how you can move one type of
4:07 configuration data using North52 data
4:09 packager
4:10 you can of course use the North52 data
4:12 package to bundle up multiple data types
4:16 into the same data package and export
4:19 and import that information from one
4:21 instance to another for further
4:24 information please see our website North
