0:00 if you have dynamics 365 dataverse sales
0:03 or service
0:04 there are often business rules that need
0:05 data from dynamics 365 finance and
0:07 operations
0:08 with the virtual entity support provided
0:10 by microsoft it is very easy to use
0:12 finance and operations data in your
0:14 North52 business rules
0:16 using a simple scenario of displaying a
0:18 notification to the dynamics 365 sales
0:21 user
0:22 we show in this video how easy it is to
0:24 build a North52 business rule
0:26 based on invoice information that is
0:28 stored in dynamics finance and
0:30 operations
0:31 of course much more complex scenarios
0:33 are supported using the North52
0:34 business rules engine
0:36 this video is intended to show the basic
0:38 mechanics of using dynamics finance and
0:40 operations data with North52.
0:44 let's take a look at some invoice data
0:46 in finance and operations
0:47 we can see that the company active
0:49 transport inc
0:50 with invoice account number us
0:52 underscore si underscore 002
0:55 has three invoices in our finance and
0:57 operations system
0:59 now if we go to our dynamics 365 for
1:02 sale system
1:02 and open the corresponding account
1:04 record we see that a notification is
1:06 displayed
1:07 showing the sum of open invoices to see
1:12 how we build this formula
1:13 let's take a look at the North52
1:15 business rule using our find some
1:17 function
1:18 i open the wizard to configure the
1:19 criteria for selecting information from
1:21 finance and operations
1:24 first i provide a friendly name of some
1:27 fno
1:27 invoices next i select the sales invoice
1:30 headers
1:31 v2 entity from our list this is provided
1:34 using the out of the box virtual
1:36 entities functionality
1:38 i then select the fields from the fno
1:40 entity that will be used for my filter
1:42 criteria
1:43 in this case company code and
1:46 invoice account
1:51 then the filter criteria will be ussi
1:55 for the company code and account number
1:57 will be pulled
1:58 dynamically from the dynamics 365 for
2:00 sales record
2:01 on load of the form finally we select
2:05 the invoice amount as the value we want
2:07 to sum
2:08 and set the default value to zero
2:14 we add the set form notification as our
2:16 action and as you can see here that we
2:18 are using the sum
2:19 value of the invoices in our
2:21 notification and formatting it to our
2:23 requirements too
2:26 the decision table specifies different
2:28 message styles
2:29 error warning and info based on the sum
2:34 value
2:36 if we go back to finance and operations
2:38 and add in a new invoice
2:39 we will see the value automatically
2:41 update when reloading the record in
2:43 dynamics 365 for sales
2:57 thank you for watching if you would like
