0:00 hi everyone mike from north52 here in
0:03 today's video
0:04 we will show how a decision table can be
0:06 used to calculate what type of credit
0:07 card a customer is entitled to
0:10 please note that this is a part one in a
0:12 two-part series
0:13 on credit card decision tables the
0:16 requirements
0:17 are as follows if a customer matches any
0:21 of the scenarios below
0:23 then they are entitled to a platinum
0:25 credit card
0:27 as you can see there are 12 possible
0:29 combinations each with three variables
0:31 to check
0:32 which means 36 data points to check
0:36 let's see this implemented in a decision
0:38 table
0:39 here the rules previously seen have been
0:41 converted to a decision table
0:44 note that they are very similar to the
0:46 requirements the only difference being
0:48 that the brackets are used here to
0:50 indicate a between function
0:53 now let's see this in action here is a
0:55 contact that is not viable for our
0:57 platinum
0:58 credit card but if we increase the
1:01 annual income
1:02 and click save we can see
1:05 that its credit card type gets set to
1:07 platinum
1:10 let's jump back to the decision table
1:12 and we can see that
1:13 with an annual income of 700 000
1:17 and the total assets of the applicant
1:19 being equal
1:20 to 510 000
1:24 and a credit score of 200
1:27 means that this row will be executed
1:31 granting that platinum credit card type
1:34 thank you for watching
