0:00 hi I'm Patrick from North52 and I have
0:03 my colleague Bruce here with me today to
0:05 talk about how North52 can help insurance
0:07 companies who are invested in the
0:09 Microsoft Power Platform
0:10 Bruce can you explain how North52 and
0:13 the Power Platform can help insurance
0:15 companies to deliver a fully featured
0:18 quoting system using no Code and low
0:19 code
0:20 sure let's start with the Power Platform
0:23 here we've got dataverse the underlying
0:24 database we've got model driven apps and
0:28 we've got custom Pages we've got power
0:30 automate and we've got power pages
0:34 North52 comes into the mix and this is
0:36 where we provide all the complex logic
0:38 processing we've got decision tables
0:40 we've got things like rating table
0:41 lookups
0:42 you know we can create records and
0:45 dataverse update records and dataverse
0:46 based on complex logic and we can even
0:48 output Json so that we can interact with
0:51 third-party systems or custom pages
0:54 let me show you a demo
0:57 an agent will load up the compare
0:59 coverage and premium costs custom page
1:03 they will select the coverage options to
1:05 compare and the start date for the
1:07 policy
1:08 multiple beneficiaries can be added to
1:10 the policy each beneficiary has their
1:12 name and date of birth added
1:15 once the required information has been
1:17 entered the calculate premiums button is
1:20 clicked which triggers a North52
1:22 formula to work out the premiums for
1:25 each coverage
1:26 how does the custom page Feature work
1:28 with Nord 52 division suite and how is
1:31 that utilized in the quoting system
1:33 you've just demonstrated to us let's
1:35 first start with the custom action which
1:37 is created in database it takes two
1:39 parameters Json in Json out
1:42 and then we've got a trigger on that
1:44 custom action being called North52
1:46 listens out for that we do some complex
1:49 processing and then return Json back out
1:52 through the custom action to the custom
1:54 pages and then on the custom page we are
1:57 interpreting that Json data and
1:59 displaying it to the agent to look at
2:01 the various policy options and the and
2:03 the costs associated with those policies
2:07 can you walk us through the process of
2:09 how North52 formulas are triggered to
2:11 calculate the premiums for each policy
2:14 sure let's take a look
2:17 this policy has the dental plan 2 silver
2:21 coverage associated with it and our
2:23 coverage is associated with a policy a
2:25 North52 formula is triggered and the
2:27 premium calculation is made based on the
2:29 beneficiary details and the treatments
2:31 covered
2:32 if we open the details for this coverage
2:34 we can see that it has a set of
2:35 treatments included and excluded and
2:38 various restrictions the premium
2:40 calculation uses rating tables specific
2:42 for the coverage
2:44 North52 finds the treatments determines
2:47 the age of the policy holder looks at
2:49 the rating tables and then calculates
2:50 the premium by totaling up each
2:52 treatment
2:54 how are rating tables used in North52
2:56 division Suite in order to determine
2:58 pricing for the policy selected well
3:01 we've got a special function that we
3:03 utilize in decision tables that look up
3:04 the rating tables
3:07 for example the base rate for the
3:09 premium calculation
3:10 we pass in the table name the coverage
3:12 name and we want to return the base rate
3:14 for a given age and treatment defined
3:16 here as the exclusion inclusion line of
3:18 business
3:19 the policy start date is also included
3:21 to ensure we look up the correct x-cash
3:23 table
3:24 holders North52 build the quote record
3:27 and what information is included in that
3:29 record
3:31 well first of all we take the
3:32 information that is entered on the
3:33 custom page and then we use decision
3:36 tables to create the various underlying
3:39 records we've got a quote header that we
3:41 need to create we need to find existing
3:43 contacts or create new ones if they
3:45 don't exist in the system we need to
3:47 create policyholder records to associate
3:49 to that quote and then we need to create
3:52 a coverage record and this is a link to
3:54 a template that determines you know what
3:56 treatments are available for this
3:57 particular quote and any inclusions and
4:00 exclusions how does an r52 generate a
4:03 PDF from that Json and what role does
4:05 Adobe Document Services play in that
4:07 process
4:09 well first of all North52 retrieves the
4:11 policy information from the dataverse
4:13 and we're talking things like the
4:14 policyholder names addresses date of
4:17 births then we get premium details how
4:19 much does it cost what are the coverage
4:21 periods
4:22 then we also look up the coverage
4:25 themselves so we're looking at what's
4:27 included what's not included we get all
4:29 this information we compile it into Json
4:32 format and we send that off to Adobe
4:34 Document Services which is then merged
4:36 with a template
4:37 Document Services then returns a PDF
4:39 which we can email to the customer okay
4:41 we're not wedded to Adobe Document
4:44 Services you know we can use another
4:46 document Management Service if we need
4:48 to depends on what the customer
4:50 requirements are
4:52 can you explain how North52 decisions
4:54 read and the Microsoft Power Platform
4:56 can help insurance companies to
4:57 streamline their processes and
4:59 potentially improve overall customer
5:01 experience
5:02 sure I think you know it's about the
5:04 ability to deliver projects quickly
5:05 whether they're creating a new system or
5:07 updating an existing system you know
5:10 North52 makes it really easy to adapt
5:12 to change if you need to change the
5:14 rules you can deploy that to your
5:16 testing environment to your production
5:17 environment very very quickly and we
5:19 provide all the tools necessary for an
5:21 end-to-end solution now if with things
5:24 like from generating a quote to creating
5:26 a policy to your first notice of loss
5:29 system to then managing the claims
5:31 adjudication process
5:33 whether it's interacting with the agent
5:35 over a phone or a customer doing some
5:37 self-service via power Pages website you
5:40 know all those tools are there are there
5:42 any limitations or challenges to using a
5:44 law court and norcord solution in order
5:47 to generate a fully featured quoting
5:49 solution for a customer
5:51 well when you're using North52 you know
5:53 we haven't come across any limitations
5:54 yet you know North52 provides an extra
5:57 layer of capability when you're really
6:00 genuinely wanting to not use any custom
6:02 code
6:04 how does North52 ensure like the Privacy
6:07 and security of all that sensitive
6:09 customer information that's used during
6:11 those coding processes well because an
6:13 old 52 is an add-on to the Microsoft
6:15 platform it runs entirely within the
6:18 Microsoft instances so the customer data
6:20 never leaves their own instance within
6:22 the Microsoft services and platform and
6:24 because Microsoft takes security and
6:26 privacy extremely seriously you know the
6:29 chances are that data is as secure as
6:31 it's going to be
6:32 what advice would you give to insurance
6:34 companies thinking about using North52
6:36 and the Microsoft Power Platform to
6:38 implement a fully featured coding system
6:40 well first of all they really need to
6:41 just get in touch with us either
6:43 directly or via their Power Platform
6:45 partner or you can go to North52.com look
6:48 at the information that we provide there
6:50 or even on our support site email us at
6:53 sales norfit2.com
6:55 you know give us a call we'll look at
6:58 your requirements provide a demo and
7:00 even a proof of concept using your own
7:03 requirements
7:04 very good thank you Bruce thank you
